At the end of 2013, the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation approached Vectracom for a project to digitize historic audiovisual archives. All the films were restored manually: repairing breaks, replacing adhesives, and removing waste. The reels were then stored in new ventilated boxes to ensure optimum conservation.
Once all the files had undergone quality control, the final preservation and operational versions were delivered to the Cyprus Broadcasting Company on LTO cartridges as part of scheduled deliveries, together with spreadsheets for reports.
The entire project took around 8 months to complete.
